DOG FOULING - Manningtree
ATTENTION DOG OWNERS
It has been brought to the attention of Manningtree Town Council that there has been an increase in the amount of dog fouling in Manningtree.
While we all love our furry friends, it is important to remember that cleaning up after them is not just a courtesy, it’s a responsibility!
I am bringing this to your attention as this can have serious health issues, dog poo contains Toxocara worm, which causes Toxocarisis and can lead to dizziness, seizures, asthma, blindness, and breathing difficulties.
I urge dog owners to be responsible and if your dog does a poo whilst out in our community, please pick it up and dispose in a dog bin. I would also like to thank most of the dog owners who are responsible and pick up their dog poo.
It is also a good time to remind you that in Tendring there is a dog control and dog fouling order in place under section 60 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. The order is valid from 1st August 2024 for 3 years. If this order is breached you could be liable for a fixed penalty notice or prosecution.
