Accessibility statement for Manningtree Town Council
This accessibility statement applies to this website at manningtreetowncouncil.gov.uk
This website is run by Manningtree Town Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
This site is believed to be fully compliant, except it is possible some older PDF documents within this website may not be fully accessible to screen reader software, perhaps due to missing main headers or alternative text on images within. The Accounts and Audit Regulations require a physical 'wet ink' signature on the original Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR). All the AGARs on the website are therefore scanned as an image into a PDF, which means that this content cannot be available to screen readers and hence do not fully comply with Accessibility Regulations. The National Audit Office is aware that the two pieces of legislation are not compatible.
